With the Code 11.59, Audemars Piguet undertook the most difficult step for a manufacture famous for a single shape: a second, independent line. A round case set on an octagonal middle section, with a doubly curved sapphire crystal.
The evolution of the Code 11.59
Introduced in 2019, the Code 11.59 was the brand's first new collection in decades. The name stands for Challenge, Own, Dare, Evolve — and for the minute before midnight.
The case construction combines a round top and bottom with an octagonal middle section, whose openworked lugs demand a high degree of manufacturing effort.
The market's initial reaction was critical. Audemars Piguet responded with consistent development: new dials, including elaborate enamel executions, along with new material variants.
2022 brought calibre 7121 to the Code 11.59, a markedly improved technical base, followed in 2023 by executions in sand gold with smoky dial gradients.
